Perth Wildcats defeat New Zealand Breakers amid Jackson-Cartwright injury
The Perth Wildcats secured their fourth consecutive NBL victory with a 100-84 win over the New Zealand Breakers at RAC Arena. Dylan Windler led Perth with 32 points, including seven three-pointers, while Elijah Pepper contributed 25 points to help the Wildcats pull away in the fourth quarter.
Despite the loss, New Zealand's Sam Mennenga delivered a standout performance, recording 40 points, 18 rebounds, and five assists. The Breakers' struggles were compounded by the absence of playmaker Parker Jackson-Cartwright, who was ruled out for several weeks due to a lower-leg injury. Head coach Gordon Herbert described the loss of his primary ball-handlers as being “like being out in a rowboat without an oar.”
Perth also saw the NBL debut of former NBA player Brandon Knight, who recorded six points and five turnovers during the match.
