Perth Wildcats sign former NBA guard Brandon Knight

The Perth Wildcats have officially signed former NBA guard Brandon Knight to bolster their roster for the upcoming NBL season. The 34-year-old veteran, who played nine seasons in the NBA for teams including the Detroit Pistons, Milwaukee Bucks, and Phoenix Suns, arrives to address the club's point guard needs.

Wildcats GM of Basketball Operations Danny Mills noted that the club exercised significant patience during the off-season to ensure they secured the right fit. Mills stated that the club held discussions with Knight as early as January and again midway through the year, emphasizing that they prioritized finding a player capable of winning an NBL title rather than rushing a signing.

Knight's arrival follows a period of instability at the position for Perth, which included the departure of Mason Jones and injury issues for David Duke Jr. While the signing is a major addition to the roster, the club's high-performance staff will determine his integration into the lineup to ensure he is physically prepared for competition.
