Peru advances road projects in Huánuco and Arequipa
In Huánuco, Governor Antonio Pulgar inaugurated the paving of the 2.3‑kilometre Vía Colectora 2, a project valued at S/ 39.86 million. The work includes concrete lanes, a bridge, drainage, retaining walls, ramps for people with disabilities, green areas and seven bus stops, and is expected to ease congestion on the Carretera Central and improve safety for students, workers and families.
In Arequipa, the provincial municipality postponed the planned closure of Paz Soldán street and the Tarapacá passage in the Vallecito sector, originally scheduled for 30 July. The closure will be implemented once the connecting Lima Avenue is ready. The 25‑day works will involve paving more than 11,000 sq m of road, installing horizontal and vertical signage, and directing traffic along specified detour routes.
