South American regional governments advance housing and land title initiatives
Various regional governments in South America are implementing initiatives to address housing needs and land ownership.
In Peru, the Ministry of Housing, Construction and Sanitation delivered 4,126 property titles to families across the Ica region, including Chincha, Pisco, Nasca, and Palpa, to facilitate legal protection and access to credit.
In Chile, the Ministry of National Assets distributed 92 land titles to families in the Los Ríos region (Paillaco, Futrono, and La Unión) and provided titles and concessions to communities in Pozo Almonte, Tarapacá, through a partnership with the Regional Government.
In Argentina, Villa La Angostura is launching a Municipal Housing Demand Registry with technical support from CEVE–CONICET to better understand local housing needs. Additionally, housing construction is progressing in Chajarí and Concordia, Entre Ríos, while Chivilcoy is conducting an occupational census to facilitate the formalization of social housing lots through the Plan Familia Propietaria.
