Peru and Mexico Launch 2026 Government Scholarship Programs

Peru's Ministry of Education, through Pronabec, opened the Beca Perú 2026 call, offering more than 200 privately‑funded university and technical school slots to Peruvian citizens who have completed secondary education. The competition has no age limit and accepts applications until 11:59 p.m. on 8 July, with candidates evaluated on academic performance and other criteria.

Mexico announced that a new registration period will begin in September 2026 for its federal scholarship schemes, including the Beca Rita Cetina for primary education, Beca Benito Juárez for upper secondary, Beca Jóvenes Escribiendo el Futuro and Beca Gertrudis Bocanegra. The program will also continue distributing Banco del Bienestar cards that provide 2,500 pesos per month to primary‑school beneficiaries starting in August.

Both initiatives aim to broaden access to higher and basic education by providing financial support to students who have not previously enrolled in government‑run scholarship programs.
