Peru celebrations to drive over S/ 100 million in economic activity

The dual celebrations of Halloween and Día de la Canción Criolla are expected to drive significant economic activity in Peru. The Small Business Guild of the Lima Chamber of Commerce estimates that small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) could see sales increases between 8% and 12% compared to normal periods. Key sectors benefiting from these festivities include gastronomy, entertainment, retail, and clothing.

Projections from the Universidad de Ciencias y Artes de América Latina (UCAL) suggest the service sector could grow by 15% to 20% during these festivities. Total economic movement for the period is estimated to exceed S/ 100 million. The Association of Shopping Centers of Peru (ACCEP) calculates that average spending per person on October 31 is expected to range between S/ 120 and S/ 250, covering items such as costumes, food, liquor, and live entertainment.

Because October 31 falls on a Saturday this year, experts anticipate higher attendance at concerts, nightclubs, and family events. To meet this demand, business leaders recommend that SMEs prepare by increasing working capital by 10% to 20% while carefully managing inventory to maintain liquidity.
