Peru coffee exports reach record US$ 1,796 million
Peruvian coffee exports reached a historic record of US$ 1,796 million over the last year, according to the Ministry of Agrarian Development and Irrigation (Midagri). This growth impacts more than 223,000 producer families across 16 regions of the country.
Peruvian coffee is currently exported to 52 international markets. The United States is the primary buyer, followed by Germany, Belgium, Canada, and Colombia. Peru currently ranks as the ninth largest producer and exporter of conventional coffee globally.
The increase in export value is attributed to rising international coffee prices driven by global supply issues, lower stock levels, increased demand, and the effects of climate change.
