Peru consumer credit grows 11.5% year-on-year in July
Consumer credit in Peru grew by 11.5% year-on-year in July 2026, according to data from the Central Reserve Bank of Peru (BCRP). This represents an acceleration from the 10.6% growth recorded in June. On a monthly basis, financing for households increased by 1.4%.
Specific credit modalities showed varied growth. Vehicle loans increased by 1.6% monthly, bringing the year-on-year growth rate to 10.8%. Credit card loans rose by 0.6% compared to the previous month, with an annual growth rate of 9.5%.
In terms of currency, consumer credit in soles grew by 11% annually, while credit in dollars saw a 20.9% annual increase. The dollarization coefficient for the consumer credit segment stood at 5.9%, while vehicle loans maintained a dollarization coefficient of 7.5%.
