Peru electoral updates: Campaign finance and candidate disclosures

In preparation for the 2026 General Elections in Peru, the National Office of Electoral Processes (ONPE) reported that 34 out of 37 obligated political organizations have submitted their second campaign financial report. This represents a compliance rate of 91.89%, with 30 organizations meeting the August 24 deadline and four submitting late. Three organizations failed to provide the required information.

According to the Claridad portal, Fuerza Popular reported the highest campaign revenues at S/ 3.63 million and the highest expenditures at S/ 2.31 million. Other significant contributors include the Somos Perú Democratic Party, Ahora Nación, Renovación Popular, and Alianza para el Progreso.

Separately, regarding the 2026 electoral process, the National Jury of Elections (JNE) has enabled the ‘Voto Informado’ platform to allow citizens to consult candidate information. Additionally, reports indicate that 1,739 candidates for the 2026 Regional and Municipal Elections have declared prior criminal convictions in their official filings.
