Peru focuses on regional investment and infrastructure development
The CADE Ejecutivos 2026 conference, scheduled for November 24–26 in Urubamba, Cusco, will focus on driving economic growth and investment outside of Lima. Under the theme “Unidos para Avanzar,” the event aims to foster coordination between businesses, regional governments, and national authorities to strengthen regional economies.
Felipe James, president of the Sociedad Nacional de Industrias (SNI), is set to participate in a panel discussing how to generate more business growth in the regions. Discussions will cover investment conditions, the use of regional budgets and canon, and the necessity of long-term regulatory stability.
Complementing these discussions, economist Juan de Dios Guevara has proposed a “Roadmap Peru 2026–2031” to address the country's lack of territorial coordination. The plan outlines five major infrastructure axes designed to connect productive corridors with global markets. Key proposals include a trans-Andean and coastal railway network—such as the San Juan de Marcona–Andahuaylas–Las Bambas line—and the consolidation of a southern Pacific port triangle involving Chancay, Callao, Corío, and Matarani to enhance trade with Asia.
