Peru Football Federation selects Matute stadium for November match
The Peruvian Football Federation (FPF) has confirmed that the national team will face Bolivia in an international friendly on Friday, November 13, at the Alejandro Villanueva stadium, also known as Matute.
Jean Ferrari, the general director of the FPF, explained that the decision to use the Alianza Lima venue over alternatives like the Estadio Monumental was driven by technical inspections and club schedules. Ferrari noted that while the pitch conditions were similar between the venues, the workload of the clubs played a decisive role. Specifically, Universitario de Deportes had four matches scheduled during that period compared to two for Alianza Lima, making Matute a more convenient option for the technical staff.
Additionally, Ferrari expressed interest in seeing Renato Tapia return to the national team selection.
