Peru hosts UNITAS LXVII multinational naval exercise

The Peruvian Navy is hosting UNITAS LXVII, the 67th edition of the world's oldest multinational naval exercise, beginning September 10 and running through September 24. The exercise will involve forces from 24 countries, including more than 5,300 personnel, 26 vessels, 21 aircraft, three submarines, and various unmanned systems.

This edition features multi-domain operations spanning maritime, riverine, amphibious, lacustrine, and cyberspace environments. Key locations for the operational phase include Callao, Ancón, Salinas, Junín, and Iquitos. The primary objective is to strengthen interoperability between diverse international naval forces.

Additionally, the Argentine Navy is participating in the Silent Force Exercise (SIFOREX XIV), a multinational drill focused on submarine warfare, combining anti-submarine and anti-surface capabilities. Argentina is contributing the destroyer ARA Almirante Brown, a Fennec helicopter, and over 200 personnel, including submariners and sonar specialists. SIFOREX is organized by the US Navy and the Peruvian Navy, with participation from Ecuador.
