Peru implements reforms in housing and water services
The Peruvian Ministry of Housing, Construction and Sanitation has signed a cooperation agreement with the National Superintendency of Public Registries (Sunarp) to accelerate administrative processes. This technological integration will grant the ministry direct access to online registry publicity services, aiming to reduce bureaucratic barriers and improve the execution of state projects, particularly in formal housing development.
Separately, the Peruvian government is initiating a restructuring of the state water utility, Sedapal. Minister of Housing Mauricio Arnillas announced that the process will begin with the appointment of a new board of directors. The restructuring aims to improve potable water and sewage services through new regulations and the reduction of bureaucratic hurdles, supported by requests for legislative powers to modify the company’s management framework.
