Peru Ministry of Housing to review 5,000 social housing bonds

The Peruvian Ministry of Housing, Construction, and Sanitation (MVCS) and the National Association of Technical Entities (ANET) are coordinating efforts to strengthen social housing access. Following a pilot program inspection in the Junín region, the Ministry has committed to reviewing approximately 5,000 housing bonds that were previously affected, which left thousands of families without access to social interest housing (VIS).

During recent discussions, the MVCS clarified that there are no plans to negatively impact the 'Construcción en Sitio Propio' (CSP) modality, which allows families to build on their own land. Instead, a working group will be established to gather technical proposals to strengthen CSP, including the potential implementation of vertical social interest housing. The Ministry is also working on urban planning measures for the 'Adquisición de Vivienda Nueva' (AVN) modality to ensure better organization within available budgets.
