Peru Ministry of Transport reviews regional infrastructure projects in Ica

Peru's Ministry of Transport and Communications (MTC) met with the governor-elect of Ica, Juan Mendoza Uribe, and provincial mayors from Nazca, Chincha, and Palpa to coordinate road infrastructure projects.

Key discussions included the improvement and expansion of the Panamericana Sur highway, specifically the Guadalupe–Ica–Ocucaje detour section, which involves three road interchanges. Officials also reviewed bridge projects and addressed concerns regarding vulnerable points on the Panamericana Sur that are susceptible to heavy rains caused by the El Niño phenomenon, particularly in Ocucaje, Palpa, and Nasca.

Additionally, the ministry is seeking a meeting with the concessionaire of the Vía Los Libertadores to discuss accelerating project execution within existing contractual frameworks.
