Peru police link Glock used in Lima murder to six crimes

Peruvian authorities have linked a Glock .380 automatic pistol confiscated from a homicide suspect to six different criminal acts across the country. The weapon was seized from 21-year-old Venezuelan national Reni Alejandro Medina Hernandez, who confessed to the murder of money changer Jorge Socrates Llanos Chuquillanqui in central Lima.

Forensic analysis using the Integrated Ballistic Identification System (IBIS) allowed investigators to match microscopic marks on shell casings and projectiles to several other incidents. These include two murders in Callao and Ate, an attempted murder in Huachipa, and a shooting in Cusco.

In the Lima attack that led to the arrest, a pedestrian was also seriously injured. Investigators also found 13 matching shell casings in a vehicle linked to the June murder of moneylender Cesar Leonardo Chavez Delgado in Callao.
