Peru regional election candidates present platforms and polling data
In the lead-up to the 2026 regional and municipal elections in Peru, candidates in Callao and Ayacucho have presented various platforms and polling data.
A regional government poll for Callao, conducted among internet users between June 16 and August 19, 2026, shows Victor Armando Huarancca Medina of the Partido del Buen Gobierno leading with 42.86% of the votes. Other candidates include Dante Mandriotti (18.86%), Pedro Spadaro (18.86%), and Miguel Francisco Cordano Rodríguez (13.29%).
In Ayacucho, Omar Flores Yaros, the candidate for Perú Primero, has proposed a reorganization of regional investments to address existing budget deficits. Flores identified 47 ongoing projects requiring over S/1,330 million to reach completion. He criticized the practice of starting new projects without full financing and advocated for decentralizing administrative services away from Huamanga to strengthen sub-regions through increased technical capacity and budget transfers.
