Peru schedules widespread power outages in Lima and Arequipa

Electric utilities in Peru announced scheduled power outages for maintenance in late May 2026. The private company Pluz will cut electricity in dozens of districts across Lima and Callao between May 27 and May 29, with interruptions lasting several hours each day. Meanwhile, the state-owned Sociedad Eléctrica del Sur Oeste (Seal) will suspend service in multiple districts of the Arequipa region from May 26 through May 29 as it replaces transformers and repairs medium‑voltage lines.

Both programs affect residential neighborhoods, urban settlements and commercial areas, prompting utilities to advise customers to plan activities around the outage windows.
