Peru signs 14 air agreements, Colombia expands regional hub

Peru's Ministry of Transport and Communications has concluded 14 international aviation agreements with countries including Colombia, Spain, Chile, Panama, Brazil, Costa Rica, El Salvador, Paraguay, Guatemala, the Bahamas, Bolivia, Ecuador, Uruguay and Guyana. The deals will add 49 new weekly international frequencies, providing over 500,000 extra seats per year and are projected to generate about US$ 70 million annually in tourism revenue.

In Colombia, the state carrier Satena has designated Villavicencio as a strategic hub, operating more than 20 weekly flights to Bogotá, Puerto Carreño, Puerto Inírida, Mitú and La Macarena. The service aims to improve connectivity for the Orinoquía and Amazon regions, supporting local tourism, commerce and development.
