Peru to reinstate school expulsions for serious offenses
Peru's Minister of Education, José Antonio Chang, announced that a new regulation will be pre-published on Thursday, October 8, to reinstate the expulsion of students who commit serious offenses in educational institutions.
The process will include a five-to-ten-day observation period, after which the measure will take effect immediately. The Minister noted that the President of the Republic will be responsible for officially presenting the document, which is currently in its final definition stage.
Additionally, the Minister announced an early end to the school year in regions at risk of being affected by the El Niño phenomenon. Classes in these areas are expected to conclude by late November or early December. Regarding the Liceo Naval Almirante Guise, the Ministry of Education has assumed management of the institution until December 2027 to restore order and discipline.
