Peru tourism authorities and industry groups align on development agenda
The Peruvian Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism (Mincetur) has entered into collaborative agreements with key industry groups, including the Peruvian Association of Inbound and Domestic Tourism Operators (Apotur) and the National Chamber of Tourism (CANATUR Perú), to drive the country’s tourism sector.
Key priorities identified in these meetings include improving air and land connectivity through regional airport upgrades and road infrastructure investment. Discussions also focused on enhancing tourism security, risk management, and preparing destinations for natural phenomena such as El Niño.
To increase competitiveness, officials and industry leaders aim to diversify the national tourism offering by promoting religious, nature, adventure, and MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) tourism. The collaboration seeks to foster sustainable development and strengthen the partnership between the public and private sectors.
