Peru transport: Lima strike fails to disrupt traffic as road accidents hit Huánuco

In Lima, a planned transport strike scheduled for August 25 did not materialize at Puente Nuevo, where traffic continued to flow normally.

In the Huánuco region, multiple traffic incidents have caused significant disruptions. On the Huánuco–Tingo María highway, accidents involving a truck in Chinchao and a vehicle near Carpish led to traffic restrictions and long queues. Other reported incidents on the Carretera Central include a landslide near Chicla that caused a 16-hour collapse and a bus accident that resulted in fatalities and injuries.

Regarding infrastructure, Senace has approved the Environmental Impact Assessment for the first section of the Nueva Carretera Central, a project intended to connect three districts in Lima. Additionally, progress is being reported on the La Muyuna bridge, which has reached 70% completion, and the Tingo María airport runway, which is at 60% completion.
