Peru U17 volleyball loses to Spain, eyes 2026 World Championship

The Peruvian under‑17 volleyball team was defeated 3‑2 by Spain in the Copa Federación held at the Coliseo Eduardo Dibós. After taking the first set, Peru rallied to win the third, but Spain captured the fourth and the decisive tie‑break, winning the final set 15‑10. The side, coached by Marcello Bencardino, had previously beaten the Dominican Republic and will face South Korea in its next group match.

Ahead of the 2026 U17 World Championship in Chile, Peru’s schedule has been released. The team will play five group‑stage matches against Tunisia, Venezuela, Mexico, the Philippines and China at the Gimnasio Liceo Mixto San Felipe. All games will be broadcast by Latina on TV, its app and website.
