Peru wins five medals at Pan American Judo Open Lima 2026

The Peruvian delegation concluded its participation in the Pan American Judo Open Lima 2026 with a total of five medals. The tournament, held at the VIDENA-IPD facilities, featured 200 athletes representing 39 countries.

Peru secured two silver medals, earned by Driulys Rivas in the -52 kg category and Alonso Wong in the -73 kg category. The team also achieved three bronze medals through the performances of Mateo Cóndor (-66 kg), Yuta Galarreta (-90 kg), and Hilary Lam (-57 kg).

Driulys Rivas, who previously earned a bronze at the Lima 2026 Grand Prix, expressed her motivation to qualify for future Olympic Games, noting the support of Cuban champion Onix Cortés. Alonso Wong celebrated his return to the national team with his silver medal, setting his sights on the upcoming ODESUR Games.
