Perugia and Termoli Roll Out Modern Bus Services

The municipality of Perugia has launched a social‑media campaign to inform residents about the ongoing Metrobus project. The plan involves 18‑metre electric buses on a 24‑kilometre route connecting Castel del Piano and Fontivegge, with dedicated lanes, priority at intersections and integrated cycling infrastructure. The aim is to serve over 20,000 citizens, reduce private‑car use and improve environmental sustainability, while construction work causes temporary traffic changes across several city streets.

In Termoli, the public‑transport operator GTM Srl has begun a summer "Sun Bus" service using new methane‑fuelled buses equipped with real‑time passenger information displays. The union Uiltrasporti Molise welcomed the modernisation but urged the municipal authorities and the company to finalize a long‑delayed integrated labour contract, arguing that better working conditions are essential for sustainable service improvement.
