Perugia authorities permanently close Fontivegge venue

Authorities in Perugia have permanently revoked the license of a venue in the Fontivegge district following repeated incidents of disorder and violence. The decision was made by the Municipality upon the proposal of the Prefecture, following a favorable opinion from the Provincial Committee for Public Order and Security.

The revocation follows a series of disturbances, including brawls and illegal behavior by patrons, which required numerous interventions by the State Police, Carabinieri, and local police. These recurring issues reportedly impacted the tranquility and livability of the neighborhood for local residents.

Prior to the permanent closure, the venue had already undergone three temporary suspensions of its license, the most recent of which lasted 30 days. However, these measures proved insufficient to curb the illicit activities. The Committee ultimately determined that continuing the business was “incompatible with the preeminent needs of protecting public order and security.”
