Perugia authorities urged to fast‑track two roundabouts for road safety

Augusto Peltristo, the leader of the Fare Perugia party grouping and spokesperson of the Pievaiola Committee, sent a formal request to the Umbria Region, the Province of Perugia and the municipalities of Perugia and Corciano. He asked the authorities to accelerate the approval and construction of two roundabouts – one at Agello and another at the junction of Via Ciro Menotti and Via dell’Armonia near Castel del Piano – which are deemed strategic for the safety of State Road 220 Pievaiola.

Peltristo highlighted that the Pievaiola route carries thousands of commuters daily and has long‑standing safety concerns. Despite prior petitions, a municipal council resolution and political commitments, no progress has been reported. He urged the institutions to set a clear timetable and allocate the necessary resources, stressing that the safety of residents, commuters, workers and students cannot continue to be delayed by bureaucracy.
