Perugia-Bettolle junction: Pallotta tunnel reopens to four lanes

Major infrastructure maintenance is progressing on the Perugia-Bettolle junction and the E45 highway in Italy. The Pallotta tunnel is scheduled to reopen to four lanes during daytime hours starting Saturday, August 29. Following this, construction work will transition to a nighttime-only schedule from August 31, operating between 21:00 and 06:00 to minimize traffic disruption.

Regional Infrastructure Councilor Francesco De Rebotti noted that the Pallotta reopening is two days ahead of schedule. This follows the recent daytime reopening of the Madonna Alta tunnel. The continuous 24/7 work cycle, involving over 100 technicians, was implemented to complete essential structural and technological upgrades as quickly as possible.

Additionally, new maintenance works are set to begin on the E45 near the Collestrada curve starting August 31. These works, managed by Anas, will focus on resurfacing nearly three kilometers with draining asphalt. To maintain daytime traffic flow, these interventions will also be restricted to the nighttime window of 21:00 to 06:00.
