Perugia Calcio ownership transfer nears final closing

The ownership transfer of Perugia Calcio from Faroni to Arena Curi is expected to finalize within the next week or two. Hernan Garcia Borras, the club's general manager, confirmed that the final requirement—the auditors' opinion on the 2026 budget—has been completed ahead of the October 15 deadline, describing the financial statements as “perfect.”

Despite this progress, tensions have emerged regarding the future of the Arena Curi stadium. Local administration involvement in discussions concerning stadium renovations has reportedly caused friction with Arena Curi members, potentially complicating the investors' commitment. While the current club management maintains that funds are available to meet upcoming financial deadlines regardless of the closing date, the long-term project involves a proposed €120 million new facility intended to replace the existing stadium.
