Perugia Hospital undergoes leadership changes in university departments

The Santa Maria della Misericordia hospital in Perugia is undergoing a significant restructuring of its university-led departments following the retirement of several prominent professionals. General Director Antonio Urso has signed resolutions to appoint new heads for five complex structures.

Three departments have secured permanent five-year appointments: Cinzia Costa will lead neurology, succeeding Lucilla Parnetti; Jacopo Vannucci will head thoracic surgery, replacing Francesco Puma; and Gianluca Ingrosso will take over oncological radiotherapy from Cynthia Aristei.

However, two key departments remain in transition due to unresolved agreements between the hospital and local authorities. Orthopedics and traumatology will be led by Giuseppe Rinonapoli in an acting capacity, while the urology clinic also remains under interim management following the retirement of Ettore Mearini.
