Perugia hosts 10th KUM! Festival exploring violence

The 10th edition of the KUM! Festival is currently underway in Perugia, running until October 25. Directed by psychoanalyst Massimo Recalcati and scientifically curated by philosopher Federico Leoni, this year’s theme is “the temptation of violence.”

The festival brings together a diverse group of scholars, philosophers, psychologists, and artists to analyze how violence manifests in contemporary society, ranging from personal relationships to political dynamics and digital communication.

Scheduled sessions include psychologist Mauro Grimoldi discussing adolescent violence within family bonds, and philosopher Roberto Esposito examining fascism as a historical event and a machine for generating consensus. Additionally, jurist Massimo Durante is set to address the intersection of violence and artificial intelligence.
