Perugia hosts second Custody Week to promote urban regeneration

The second edition of the ‘Settimana della Custodia’ (Custody Week) is scheduled to take place in Perugia from September 14 to September 20, 2026. This civic initiative aims to raise awareness regarding the care of common goods, urban decorum, and the preservation of cultural heritage.

Promoted by the Municipality of Perugia and the Brunello and Federica Cucinelli Foundation, the event includes over 80 concrete projects. These activities focus on maintenance, cleaning, public greenery, and urban regeneration across various city locations, including parks, squares, and ancient walls.

The University of Perugia is participating through its ‘Custodire l’Università’ project, which involves maintenance, accessibility improvements, and cultural valorization of university spaces such as Palazzo Murena, the Rectorate area, and the Medieval Garden. Other scheduled interventions include the cleaning of Etruscan walls, the redevelopment of urban furniture in Parco dell’Arcadia, and the maintenance of the Sentiero delle Lavandaie pedestrian path.
