Perugia Province approves new educational paths and courses

The Provincial Council of Perugia has unanimously approved the Provincial Plan of Educational Offer for the 2027/2028 school year. The plan introduces several new academic paths and courses designed to address demographic shifts, declining enrollment, and local labor market needs.

Key changes include the establishment of a Social Economic High School (LES) at the IIS ‘Italo Calvino’ in Città della Pieve. Additionally, the IIS ‘Cavour-Marconi-Pascal’ will implement specialized training in health and social assistance services, including a biological-sanitary track with OSS qualification, as well as a second-level evening course. The Liceo Statale ‘Plinio il Giovane’ in Città di Castello will also see the activation of a Linguistic High School.

Council members emphasized that these updates aim to prevent student migration to other regions by providing modern, high-quality educational options that align with the economic and social vocations of the territory.
