Perugia to host solidarity caravan for Cuba
A solidarity caravan is scheduled to take place in Perugia on Sunday, September 13, to draw attention to the economic and political situation in Cuba. Organized by AsiCuba and a network of local associations, political movements, and trade unions, the event aims to protest against United States policies and the isolation of the island.
The mobilization will begin at 9:30 AM at the Pian di Massiano parking lot near PalaBarton. The car caravan will travel through the city toward San Sisto before returning. The event will feature Cuban flags and music, and organizers have invited members of the public to join even if they do not have their own vehicles.
The demonstration will conclude with a final assembly in Piazza del Circo in the city center. This closing meeting will include speeches from political representatives and various organizations. Organizers described the situation in Cuba as ‘the longest siege in history,’ highlighting the island's history of international medical and humanitarian aid.
