Perugia volleyball clubs kick off new seasons as Sirio women's team returns after 15 years
The revived Sirio Perugia women's volleyball team will compete in the Italian B1 league starting 17 October, opening at home against Stia and concluding the regular season on 15 May after 26 matchdays. President Vincenzo Ciucarelli highlighted the significance of the club’s return to national competition after a fifteen‑year absence. The schedule also includes potential Italian Cup fixtures and play‑offs, with promotion and relegation rules outlined.
Polish outside hitter Kamil Semeniuk expressed enthusiasm about rejoining Sir Susa Scai Perugia for the upcoming Superlega season. The 29‑year‑old, a two‑time VNL champion, noted his aim to help the team qualify for the European Championship and the Olympics, while recalling his successful four‑year stint with the club that has made him a fan favourite.
Both clubs aim to build on recent successes and raise Perugia’s profile in Italian volleyball.
