Perušić police arrest unlicensed driver after pursuit and drug seizure

A 32-year-old Croatian man was arrested in Perušić after a police pursuit. The driver ignored police signals and attempted to flee on foot after pulling into a residential courtyard.

Authorities determined the driver was operating a vehicle without a valid license and is a repeat offender of serious traffic violations. During the incident, the driver and a 29-year-old female passenger surrendered a grinder, 1.83 grams of amphetamine, and 0.1 grams of marijuana. Preliminary testing indicated the driver was positive for drugs, though he refused blood and urine samples.

Police have temporarily seized the vehicle. The Lička police have proposed a prison sentence of up to 120 days for the driver.
