Perumbavoor mob assaults three youths accused of drug dealing

On July 9‑10, 2026, three young men in Perumbavoor, Kerala were intercepted by a mob that accused them of selling drugs. The victims – Gokul Deepak (18), Alvin Shaji (20) and Muhammed Alfas (20) – were beaten, forced to kneel, had their heads shaved, stripped and further assaulted inside a nearby soda‑factory. The attack was recorded by a nearby camera.

Perumbavoor police later arrested six men (Sajid, Mahimkutty, P V Sameer, K A Sharif, Rafeek and K A Anwar) from Kandanthara, charging them with unlawful assembly, wrongful restraint, voluntarily causing hurt, wrongful confinement, use of criminal force and criminal intimidation. Police chief K S Sudarshan said strict action would be taken and investigation continues.
