Perumda Pasar Jaya to revitalize Sunter Podomoro Market

Perumda Pasar Jaya has announced plans to revitalize the Sunter Podomoro Market in North Jakarta. The project aims to transform the traditional market into a modern shopping destination to better compete with contemporary shopping centers and boost the turnover of MSME traders.

The revitalization strategy includes strengthening the existing building structure, updating civil and architectural elements, and replacing the building facade with a modern aesthetic. A key component of the project is the modernization of mechanical and electrical (M&E) systems to improve safety, centralize controls, and minimize fire risks.

Additionally, the plan involves reorganizing market zoning and relocating business premises to improve visitor circulation and comfort. Integrated parking areas for both cars and motorcycles will also be redesigned. Perumda Pasar Jaya Director Utama Agus Himawan stated that the transformation focuses on ensuring both aesthetic appeal and structural security.
