Perupetro signs technical evaluation agreement for Marañón Basin
Perupetro has signed a Technical Evaluation Agreement (CET) with a consortium comprising Nikoil Energy Corp. Suc, Colombia, and Maxenergy to investigate area XCVI in the Marañón Basin. The agreement, located in the Loreto department within the provinces of Datem del Marañón and Loreto, allows the consortium to analyze existing geological, geophysical, and geochemical data from Perupetro’s database.
The evaluation period is set for 20 months. All activities will be conducted via office-based research, meaning no field interventions or physical activities will take place within the area. If the studies prove successful, the consortium will hold the right of first option to negotiate a license contract for the exploration and exploitation of hydrocarbons in part or all of area XCVI. These studies aim to expand knowledge of the Marañón Basin and identify new exploration opportunities.
