The National Board of Justice (JNJ) in Peru has unanimously approved preparatory actions to launch a public merit-based competition to fill 478 vacant prosecutor positions. These vacancies span various levels and specialties across the country.

The selection process follows a communication from the Attorney General's Office regarding available positions with multi-year budget sustainability for the 2027-2029 period. The JNJ, led by President María Teresa Cabrera Vega, stated that the official rules and evaluation schedule will be released soon through the Official Bulletin of the Magistracy and other institutional channels.

The board emphasized that the selection process will be conducted under principles of meritocracy, transparency, equality of opportunity, and impartiality to ensure the appointment of qualified professionals to the justice system.
