Peru's 'Peru, Mucho Gusto' gastronomy fairs 2026 target over S/37 million economic impact

The Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism (MINCETUR) and Promperú unveiled the 2026 schedule for the "Perú, Mucho Gusto" gastronomy fairs, a flagship platform for promoting Peruvian culinary tourism. Five editions are planned: four national events in Ayacucho (June 27‑29), Tacna (July 25‑28), Piura (August 7‑9) and Lima (October 30‑November 1), plus an international edition in Madrid, Spain (September 18‑20). Organisers project more than 560,000 attendees and over 500 domestic exhibitors, generating a combined economic movement exceeding 37 million Peruvian soles.

Minister of Foreign Trade and Tourism José Fernando Reyes Llanos, Promperú executive Freddy José María Solano González, regional governor Wilfredo Oscorima, Magdalena del Mar mayor Francis Allison, and chef Mitsuharu Tsumura highlighted the fairs' role in boosting internal and inbound tourism, showcasing regional cuisines such as Arequipa’s dishes, the pisco route, and Peruvian coffee and cacao, and creating opportunities for producers, chefs, artisans and tour operators.

The 2026 programme aims to strengthen Peru’s identity as a leading gastronomic destination and stimulate economic development across the regions involved.
