Peru's Rogers Valencia Appointed Minister of Foreign Trade and Tourism

Rogers Valencia was sworn in as Peru's Minister of Foreign Trade and Tourism (Mincetur) in a ceremony attended by ministry staff, representatives of Promperú, Cenfotur and the Investment Execution Unit for Foreign Trade and Tourism (UICET). He thanked President Keiko Fujimori for her confidence and praised the technical team for its role in the country's economic development.

Valencia called for unity to tackle the sector's challenges, emphasizing continuity of policies set by his predecessor Berthin Gómez. He pledged to strengthen competitiveness, attract investment and boost tourism while maintaining an open‑door approach for stakeholders. The minister highlighted the complex environment facing the trade and tourism sectors and affirmed his commitment to build on existing advances.
