Peru's Sanipes approves new import list to speed aquaculture product entry
The National Authority of Sanitation and Safety in Fishing and Aquaculture (Sanipes), part of Peru's Ministry of Production, issued Resolution Directoral No. 002‑2026, adding a new list of authorized foreign infrastructures for importing aquaculture resources. The list includes facilities in Argentina, Poland and Ecuador authorized to export rainbow trout embryos, white shrimp post‑larvae and ornamental species. Under the new regime, listed items no longer require a fresh risk analysis before receiving sanitary import certification, reducing administrative barriers and shortening import times while maintaining risk‑based health controls. Sanipes noted the list is dynamic and may be revised if sanitary conditions in source countries change.
