Peru's universities expand programs to empower women entrepreneurs and engineers

The Universidad César Vallejo (UCV) celebrated its 35th anniversary by highlighting the UNIDAS initiative, a university‑driven social responsibility program that has provided free training, advisory services and networking to more than 15,000 women entrepreneurs across Peru. The recent event gathered business leaders, executives and representatives from organizations such as Scotiabank, Caja Huancayo and Gloria to discuss strategies for economic inclusion and sustainable growth.

Separately, the Universidad Nacional de San Cristóbal de Huamanga (UNSCH) organized the first Meeting of Women Graduates in Mining Engineering. The free‑access gathering aimed to create a mentorship network for students and professionals, showcase career opportunities in mining, and promote greater female participation in the sector.

Both initiatives reflect a broader push by Peruvian higher‑education institutions to strengthen women’s leadership, entrepreneurship and technical expertise through training, mentorship and industry collaboration.
