Peruvian candidates participate in regional political debates

Political candidates in various Peruvian regions are participating in organized forums and debates to present their development proposals to the electorate.

In the Santa Province of Áncash, the Cámara de Turismo Zona Costa de Áncash has invited candidates for the provincial mayoralty and the Regional Government of Áncash to a forum titled ‘Desarrollo Turístico en la Provincia del Santa’. Scheduled for September 17 at Cerro de la Juventud, the event aims to address how candidates plan to promote local tourism as an economic driver. Frida Aybar Navarro, president of the tourism chamber, emphasized the need for viable and concrete actions rather than ambiguous speeches to revitalize the sector.

In the Pisacoma district of Chucuito, local leaders have organized debates to allow the population to evaluate political platforms. Following an initial debate in Taniri Circa Chinga, a second debate is scheduled for September 23 in the Pisacoma Plaza de Armas. This upcoming event will include both district and provincial candidates, providing a platform for the approximately 2,320 voters to hear proposals regarding local governance and the region's livestock-based economy.
