Peruvian forces dismantle Comando Vermelho bastion in Loreto

Peruvian Armed Forces conducted an operation against the Brazilian criminal organization Comando Vermelho in the Bellavista de Callarú village, located in the Loreto region near the Amazon triple border. The operation resulted in the arrest of a Colombian national and the seizure of long-range weapons and bulletproof vests.

During the raid, authorities also destroyed a clandestine laboratory used for processing coca paste and seized various chemical inputs. The Ministry of Defense stated that the operation successfully dismantled a drug trafficking bastion in a strategic area used by transnational criminal organizations. The military, in coordination with the National Police and the Brazilian Federal Police, intends to maintain a sustained presence in the border zone to combat illicit activities.
