Peruvian Judo Team Trains at International Camp in Switzerland
Peruvian youth judokas attended the IJF Youth Training Camp NATSU 2026 in Fiesch, Switzerland, where more than 500 athletes from 40 nations gathered. The delegation, led by María Martínez Murciego, president of the Peruvian Sports Federation of Judo, prepared for the 2026 Cadet World Championships in Guayaquil and the 2026 Youth Olympic Games in Dakar. Participants included Yesus Perea, Prizzila Lam, Benjamín Burnside, Piero Herrera, Isabel Zegarra, Thiago Gavidia, Dominic Vertiz and Silvana Donayre, who trained alongside international coaches and medalists. Martínez highlighted the camp’s role in fostering technical improvement, cultural exchange and friendship among young athletes, reaffirming her commitment to support their development for upcoming global competitions.
