FBI and Peruvian police dismantle Los Tiguerones Trux in Trujillo

In a coordinated operation in Trujillo, Peru, the FBI and the Peruvian National Police (PNP) dismantled the criminal organization ‘Los Tiguerones Trux’. Nine Ecuadorian nationals were arrested in the Huanchaco district. The group is accused of involvement in extortion, drug trafficking, human trafficking, and illegal possession of weapons and explosives. Authorities seized a mini Uzi, a revolver, dynamite cartridges, marijuana, and notebooks containing records of extortion payments.

In separate law enforcement actions, Peruvian authorities arrested a 31-year-old man in Ayaviri suspected of involvement in a homicide in Juliaca, seizing a pistol and 99 rounds of ammunition. In Huancayo and Huanta, three individuals were detained during ‘Operation Pakari 2026’ for alleged links to financing terrorism related to the VRAEM region.

Additionally, a high-precision raid at the Ancón I prison targeted the criminal group ‘La Confederación’, resulting in the seizure of 32 cell phones, narcotics, cash, and various weapons. Meanwhile, investigations have highlighted the expansion of the Sinaloa Cartel’s methamphetamine production in Africa, specifically in South Africa, Nigeria, and Mozambique, targeting markets in Australia and beyond.
