Peruvian Police reaffirm support for Teletón at national parade

During the Fiestas Patrias celebrations, the Policía Nacional del Perú staged an institutional parade dedicated to the children of the Fundación Teletón Perú. General Óscar Arriola Delgado and Teletón CEO Sergio León addressed the crowd, exchanged messages of solidarity, and León presented the Medal Héroes Solidarios to the General. The police pledged to mobilize thousands of personnel to help meet the Teletón 2026 goal of S/ 9.17 million, which will fund comprehensive rehabilitation for children with physical, motor and autism spectrum disabilities.

Peruvian cumbia and chicha singer Chechito also performed in the ceremony, recalling his teenage aspiration to become a police officer. He highlighted his new production “Raíces,” noted its positive reception among children, and announced an upcoming European tour slated for October. The event underscores a partnership that has lasted more than four decades, linking the police force with the national charity to support children with disabilities.
