Peruvian retail sector expands through logistics and InRetail growth
The Peruvian retail sector is undergoing significant structural changes driven by consumer demand for convenience and the growth of e-commerce. This shift is fueling a surge in the cold chain logistics market, which is projected to grow from approximately USD 130-135 million in 2025 to over USD 400 million by 2035 in Peru. This expansion is supported by specialized infrastructure designed to maintain food freshness and quality.
Simultaneously, InRetail is accelerating its expansion across multiple business segments. The company’s Pharma division, which includes beauty and personal care formats, is targeting approximately 100 net new openings by the end of 2026. In the food retail sector, the Mass format continues to grow through new store openings and renovations, contributing to double-digit sales increases in segments like Mass and Makro. Other formats, such as Plaza Vea, also report steady performance.
